Are Facials & Peels for Me?
Individuals with uneven skin texture, discoloration, signs of aging, acne, or a dull complexion can benefit from a facial or peel. Many of our patients also choose these procedures to brighten and refresh their appearance. A facial at Hubbard Plastic Surgery involves a gentle, deep cleaning of the skin to remove dirt and clear pores using high-quality, medical-grade cleansers and moisturizers. Microdermabrasion mechanically exfoliates your skin. We use the crystal-free DiamondTome™ Skin Resurfacing System.
Chemical peels are solutions applied to the skin to encourage exfoliation. Chemical peels can also penetrate deeper into the skin to stimulate collagen production. Peels can soften fine lines, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation and can help treat acne breakouts.
Your Facial & Peel Options
Hubbard Plastic Surgery provides a number of high-quality facials and peels for every skin type.
Some of the services we offer include:
Obagi Blue Peel RADIANCE™
This is a light peel containing a salicylic acid-based peeling agent. It offers a unique blend of acids, providing a gentle but effective peel that is safe for all skin types. After just a single treatment, patients notice an improved complexion with tighter, smoother, brighter-looking skin. This peel gently improves a range of mild skin conditions including sun damage, the appearance of fine lines, and melasma, and can be helpful in the treatment of acneic skin. It can be performed every 2 weeks, and for best results, a series of 4 to 6 peels is recommended, followed by a medically supervised skin care regimen. Here's a breakdown:
- Light and gentle superficial chemical exfoliation
- Good for all skin types, especially oily, acneic skin
- Little to no downtime
- Can be performed every 2 weeks
- A series of 4 to 6 treatments is recommended for best results
Also known as "particle skin resurfacing," this non-invasive, non-surgical procedure uses the crystal-free DiamondTome Skin Resurfacing System to gently remove the outermost layer of skin to reveal smoother, more radiant skin beneath. Additionally, microdermabrasion maximizes the penetration of other skin care products, making them more effective. This is an excellent treatment for all skin types, including oily or acne-prone skin. Microdermabrasion may be performed at regular intervals for a sustained improvement. Learn more about this option. Here's an introduction:
- Light and gentle mechanical exfoliation
- Good for all skin types, especially acne-prone skin; works well in combination with other treatments
- Little to no downtime
- Can be performed every 2 weeks
- A series of 3 to 5 treatments is recommended
SkinMedica Vitalize Peel®
This is a medium peel containing a unique blend of salicylic acid, lactic acid, resorcinol, and retinoic acid that is safe for all skin types, making it ideal for treating a range of mild to moderate skin conditions such as hyperpigmentation, sun damage, acne breakouts, melasma (pregnancy mask), the appearance of fine lines, and rough or irregular skin texture. The texture and tone of your skin will look and feel renewed, and your complexion will be brighter and more even. Patients will notice improvements after just 1 peel, but a series of 3 to 6 peels is recommended for optimal results, and this peel can be performed as often as every 3 weeks. Solution will remain on the skin 4 to 6 hours, but normal activity can be resumed during this period. Additionally, skin will appear yellowish immediately after treatment, but patients may apply mineral powder makeup if cover-up is desired. This coloration will fade after about 1 hour. Patients can expect peeling to begin within 48 hours and to continue for 2 to 3 days. Patients are also advised to limit sun exposure and wear plenty of sunscreen during this period. Here's more on this peel:
- Medium chemical exfoliation
- Good for all skin types and those with acne, pigmentation, and texture issues
