This young woman from the Charlottesville area traveled to Virginia Beach to consult with me about a number of concerns she had with her nose that could be nicely corrected with rhinoplasty. Instead of traditional single bone cuts on each side, my surgical plan involved two cuts on each side to give her a more significant change. Her tip reveals that the cartilages are oriented poorly, causing a groove to each side of her nose. Correction would require a complete reorientation of the tip cartilages, a very advanced state- of- the- art maneuver in rhinoplasty. At the same time, the tip would be brought up to make her nose appear more feminine and eliminate the down- turned look. Discussing her profile view, the small hump would need to be removed and again she would greatly benefit from raising the tip and also raising the skin bridge between her nostrils. Her after photos were taken 4 months after surgery and although there is still some swelling she is extremely pleased with the natural look that we accomplished. The changes were subtle but significant, making her nose beautiful and feminine.
