This young woman from Virginia Beach was bothered mostly by the hump on her nose that is most noticeable from the side view. However, she also had considerable crookedness and her tip was over projecting. We discussed how her upper lip was pulled up onto her nose, which is called a tension deformity. During her rhinoplasty procedure, we were able to address all these issues and dense grafting was required in several locations. Grafts were used to straighten her nose along the bridge. Another was used to hold the tip in the proper projection and a different type of graft was placed along the nostril margins to keep her nostrils from getting pulled upward in future years. She is on her way to a new city to begin college and she is extremely happy with the changes and how natural they look.
