At Hubbard Plastic Surgery, we have many patients who travel both nationally and internationally to have their surgery performed by Dr. Hubbard in Virginia Beach. We understand the need to accommodate these patients and make their experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Thanks to the internet, this process has become much easier in recent years. Initial consultations can be done before you travel, making it possible to condense the number of visits prior to surgery. Below you will find an outline of how this process works to make your visit to Virginia Beach as comfortable as possible.
Learn why men and women in Virginia Beach trust the surgical expertise of board-certified plastic surgeon
Dr. Thomas Hubbard.
You may contact our office either by phone or email to set up your initial consultation. Our patient coordinator will ask that you send photos to our office along with other pertinent information for Dr Hubbard's review. As a general guide, try to imitate the photos we have on our website to maximize the information they convey. Please note that email correspondence is not secure and you may wish to mail your photos. Once Dr Hubbard has reviewed these materials, our patient coordinator will contact you with more information.
When you are ready to schedule your surgery, you may contact our staff to discuss availability. We will make every effort to schedule your pre-operative visit two days before your surgery in an effort to shorten the length of your stay in the Virginia Beach area. The length of stay will be dependent upon the surgery you desire. Our patient coordinator will review the particulars of your case as well as pre-operative instructions at that time. You will also receive a package outlining area information to assist you in planning your stay.
You will need to have someone drive you to surgery, pick you up, and stay with you for 24 hours after surgery (there are a few operations that necessitate someone stay with you for 3 or 4 days). If this is not possible, please let our patient coordinator know and she can arrange for overnight nursing services. You will also need someone to drive you to each of your post-operative visits for as long as you stay on pain medication. Taxi services are allowable after the first 24 hours.
Keeping in touch with you is extremely important to us, as your satisfaction is our ultimate goal. We would like to see you whenever you are traveling to Virginia Beach, but we understand how difficult this can be for the out of town patient. We are happy to individualize your post-operative visits. Some of our international patients email photos after surgery. Always contact our office with any questions you may have.
Dr Hubbard may request medical records, tests, or medical clearance from your physician prior to your surgery. If any of these items are requested, they must be received by our office 2 full weeks prior to your surgery date. Your safety is always our top priority.
