This Virginia Beach woman in her mid-twenties came for a consultation because she was bothered by the tip of her nose dropping down, especially when smiling. She is also concerned with the symmetry of her nostrils. After a thorough discussion and video imaging, we came up with a surgical plan. During her procedure the bridge was lowered an appropriate amount and the tip was tilted upward using a method that prevents it from dropping noticeably when she smiles. She has been extremely happy with this aspect, as well as improvement in symmetry. Notice that with a nose pointing downward, the nostrils are not visible in the front view, but they are subtly visible after her surgery. Tilting the tip up is also referred to as shortening the nose.
